    Sig Barrel

Hey guys. I know the magazines on the Sig P229 can facilitate both .357sig and .40sw, but can the .357 barrel also shoot .40?

    Thanks

No since the .357 sig bullet is smaller than the .40 cal it would not be adviseable. If you want to do this you'll need to buy a .40 cal barrel for the gun.

The .40 S&W barrel fires a bullet that is sized .400 to .401 while the .357 Sig barrel fires a round that is sized .355 to .356. The .357 Sig Cartridge is basically a necked down .40 S&W case that fits 9mm rounds. A barrel swap is all that is needed to change the caliber. However if you want to change out to a 9mm, you need a 9mm conversion barrel, 9mm magazines, and your sights will be shooting a hair low.
