I'm having a Baby Eagle in 9mm and it shoots low. I have to raise the front sight completely above the rear sight in order to hit the target. And the top of the front sight has to aim at the target's center. In a quick shooting, it causes a little slow target acquisition. Other than this, it shoots perfectly. Does anyone have this problem? And what's your remedy? Thanks.

Had the same problem with my baby eagle in 40. Rear sight is too low. took it to a gunsmith and had a higher rear sight put on it. Shoots great now.Comment

Sorry, just have to ask, you're certain it's not the shooter, right? Did you try putting it in a rest of some kind? Like a stack of sandbags to help stabilize the handgun?

Before KBI went out of business there were, IIRC, a lot of complaints on the Charles Daly forum about the Jericho 941 not shooting to point-of-aim also. [Jericho & Baby Eagle are the same pistol.] Seems to be in the design.
How good are you with a file? If you file down the front sight, the point of impact will be raised up. Just a little at a time, then recheck; i.e. you can always take more off, but once it's off, it can't go back on (unless you know a good welder)! Will probably have to touch it up with some cold blue or similar afterward.
Or install a higher rear sight like 'realmswalker' did. That way you won't have to worry about filing too much off the front sight or whether you're keeping the front sight blade level while you're filing away at each iteration.
Either will work... lower front sight or higher rear sight.Last edited by Bullwinkle; 08-02-2010, 8:56 AM.John

The trouble with filing front sights becomes obvious when you have a "dot" front sight. If your gun shoots just a little low, filing works. Now if the gun shoots real low you will need to file quite a bit and you will wind taking material off down into the dot. In that case you need to either replace the front or rear sight. MarkComment

Thanks for all of your response. It seems like it's more of a common issue with the Baby Eagle. It's a really great gun, and I wish it was sighted in from the factory a little better. I tried different types of ammo and it's the same, except for some hot loads that tend to shoot a little high.
It shoots low at all reasonable shooting ranges.Comment
