Who knows a good gunsmith in LA or OC county area that does good work on a 1911 as well as other Handguns?

I hear good thinks about Alan Tanaka. I believe he's in Gardena. I have not used him for any work myself, but he seems to have a good reputation.

Don Williams (the ActionWorks)
Heirloom Precision

I've used Alan Tanaka and he is indeed one of the best. Also have used all of the following and would recommend without hesitation:

- Jim Hoag (San Fernando Valley)
- King's Gunworks (Glendale)
- Dave's Metal Works (Covina)

Haven't used King's in a long time though. Don't know if they're still as good.

He is one of the best - a true gentlemen and one of the "original" combat pistols guys (he shot with Jeff Cooper in Big Bear at the beginning of combat pistol competition).

He did my 1911 and it's beautiful.
