    Used S&W revolver pricing

Wondering how much could i get for a used S&W 586 revolver? I'm not up on what used S&W revolvers are going for now and i have one that i'm thinking of selling if i can get a decent amount of cash for it.
Doesn't see much use and i can use the cash for another AR project or maybe a 1911. Thanks in advance.

You can check out GB and see about what they are going for on that site. California seems to always be a little more than the rate of other states though, so you may need to factor that in.
There are not a lot of 586 for sale in SoCal so your's may be in the $500 to $600 range depending on condition, options, barrel length of course. Also if it has the dreaded lock or not.
I visit local gun shops at least once a month and have not seen one for at least 6 months.
    That'd be me guess anyway.

i would advise you check out "gunbroker" on the internet. that should give you some ballpark prices.

Forgot to mention that it's a pre lock, 4" barrel in excellent condition. Wow, $500-600 for a used revolver, i hope you're right.

Thanks for the replies. I now have a much better idea of what my revolver is worth. I didn't think it would in the $500-600 range (I also have a Bianchi holster, Safariland speedloader pouch and HKS speedloaders for it).

          I thought maybe $300-400 tops.

You should have seen the prices a few years ago for pre lock revolvers. It would have gone for probably 700 or 750. It was not long ago pre lock 629 were selling for over 800 on this site. The prices for the more rare or highly desirable pre lock revolvers is still close to what it was a few years ago.
