Well i am tired of bringing my guns to a gunsmith so i purchased a lathe and a mill and set myself up a little machine shop. Can anybody recommend to me a good 1911 gunsmithing book.

I don't know of any schools in LA.
I used a blueprint for reference when milling the rails, and then the Gunsmith Kinks book from Brownells for the remaining bits. Some of it was by ear or by personal preference (ie: how to radius the backstrap and beavertail safety)Comment
