1911 Gunsmithing Books

Well i am tired of bringing my guns to a gunsmith so i purchased a lathe and a mill and set myself up a little machine shop. Can anybody recommend to me a good 1911 gunsmithing book.

80%, I really want to go to school for gunsmithing but lassen comunity college is the closest school and its near Reno. Unfortunately i live in Los Angeles. Do you know of any schools around LA?

I don't know of any schools in LA.

I used a blueprint for reference when milling the rails, and then the Gunsmith Kinks book from Brownells for the remaining bits. Some of it was by ear or by personal preference (ie: how to radius the backstrap and beavertail safety)

The above is an online journal of a person making his own 1911 with no prior experience. What he did wrong is probably at least as useful as what he got right, plus he includes helpful links to advice that aided his completion of the project.
