question on the cali handgun flowchart

    just wondering about #1
1: does the firearm have a barrel of greater then 16"? yes:not a handgun
now we all know that the min barrel length for riffles (in general not counting sbr's shotguns sbs's ect) is 16" , but where is it written that there is a maximum barrel length for a handgun ? since when does just a barrel length make a handgun a riffle? .. anyone have any links or letters from DOJ on this ?

the definition of handgun in the PC is

12001. (a)(1) As used in this title, the terms "pistol," "revolver," and "firearm capable of being concealed upon the person" shall apply to and include any device designed to be used as a weapon, from which is expelled a projectile by the force of any explosion, or other form of combustion, and that has a barrel less than 16 inches in length. These terms also include any device that has a barrel 16 inches or more in length which is designed to be interchanged with a barrel less than 16 inches in length.

    (2) As used in this title, the term "handgun" means any "pistol," "revolver," or "firearm capable of being concealed upon the person."
The bolded section states that handguns have barrels <16". The underlined section does allow for some longer barreled handguns, but only when designed to be interchanged with shorter barrels.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
