FailZero 1911 Slide & Frame Kit

I've owned FailZero products in the past, and I want to start a 1911 project. It's my understanding that their kits are done off Caspian slide & frame which is also my understand to be good stuff.

I've seen project Colts with a 'Black Chrome' finish which I do like the look of. But I use my guns to much to take want a chrome or nickel type finish. Does anyone have hands on experience with these kits?

With all the ways around the list; if I want to get it there is a way. I'm just looking for info on it, not discussing DROSing it.

If you were building a 1911 from the ground up and you didn't have to worry about the roster, I would get a Caspian slide and frame as the major components.

How do stripped frames go past the list?

The Failzero kit is suppose to be a Caspian set.

EDIT: I mis-read your post, yea I do have a way around the list.
