Range report. Sig 225

Hi all, I finally picked up my German police traded in 225 yesterday (damn you CA 10 day jail). I was too excited to bring it home clean first (which I usually do), instead I go straight to the range and fired 250 round through it.

It was 250 flawless rounds, which really surprised me. Because the gun was so dirty, as the previous owner never cleaned it, just keep adding grease on top of dirty grease.

It was a scary picture to look down the chamber.

It took me 3 hours to get all the gunk out. And the slide pin apparently broken (the outer roll pin), but it will hold until I replace it soon.

Here is what it looks like after the detail cleaning.


The one that lay next to it was my 226 that I recently acquired.






However, despite the condition of this piece. I performed nicely. The action were smooth, no FTF/FTE or any other kind of malfunction. And the gun was surprising accurate. I thought I would find it a bit less than my 226 due to sight length, but I shot 25ft, 35ft and 40ft, all rounds hit true.


Here is a target set at 25ft away. All 8rd landed on quarter size group.

I'm a big fan of those w.german non-railed sigs. Have to love the reliability of them considering all that gunk that was inside her.

No kidding. I personally love to clean my gun. None of my gun will ever get to 1/10 of dirtiness of this trade in.

The W. German Sig are my favorite. Can't stand the newer Sig with the ridiculous rails. There is not one Exter built Sig that's on my to get list.
