I can buy ss197 all day on line. Restriceted to buy ss195 Can I get any other ammo for my fiveseven other than the fnh ss197 in CA?

Yes, there are other options. You can buy the SS195LF (lead free) in stores and online.
Also, there is the special ammo from eliteammunition.com.

Elite is high dollar stuff. For your SHTF stash you should get some. But for daily shooting I have found Sportsmans guide has the best price shipped with the Club card on 197.

195LF is discontinued as is 192. 198 is available but it's running $50 a box or so. I have 1k of 198 on standby but FN jacked the price way up earlier this year so if I am gong to buy more tactical ammo, I'm going to buy Elite for the same price.

On the cheap you can find SS195LF (which has a short shelf life due to the primers) SS197 or roll your own. If you want quality performance ammunition go to Elite Ammunition. The SS198LF is only 5-10% faster with the same projectile as SS192 and SS195. In my opinion you should never pay more than $20 for any box of factory ammunition, including SS198LF unless for collection purposes. It's all very watered down and varies greatly in performance from crap to medium-crap. I was lucky and got a case of SS198LF for around $15 a box, then discovered how crappy it is and sold it off on gunbroker.

That's a varmint grenade, it's not gonna penetrate a wet paper bag and it's not supposed to. It's a tin-composite frangible.
