    Compact single-stack 9mm recommendation

    I've owned a Smith 3913 and a P7, looking for something different

Whats everyone's favorite models in the 3" - 3.5" barrel range?

Glock 26, but its 10-rounds double stack...

Are you looking for light weight or just small size?

For light weight, I'm liking my Kahr PM9 - it's been a good shooter so far, but I don't have many rounds through it yet.

I traded a SIG P239 for it that was a very nice pistol - accurate, reliable, well-made, and a better gun overall, but I didn't like the way it handled, and it was heavy.

The PM9 is 20 oz loaded with the extended mag (7+1 rounds), while the P239 was 32.1 oz loaded with 8+1 rounds.

Small size, DA/SA action..... I guess that really narrows down the field.

sig P225 is the ONLY way i'd go. Its got everything i'd look for in a carry gun. Not to mention they fit so well in the hand.

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like I need to hunt me down a P225 sometime in the very near future!

Anywhere in particular that has 225 in stock for that price? I have been looking for a while. I'm in Contra Costa.

+1 I picked up a P225 (P6) from turners when they were clearing themout. Outstanding gun, very accurate, and very pointable. Stupid P225 started a Sig addiction for me though. I have a P220 (W. German Stamped slide), and on the way a P226 (W. German Stamped Slide as well). DA is kinda long, but you know that in court it would help your case for self defense :-). SA is crisp and clean. Very low recoil. Good luck!!

Your best choices: SIG Sauer P239 or P225.

With the P239, you can choose the caliber you prefer (9mm, 40 SW, 357 SIG). With the P225, your only option is a 9mm.
