    where to buy 1911 slides/barrels?

im looking at building a 80% 1911 frame up, and im looking to buy a longslide slide/barrel set.

the longer the better, im hoping for an 8 inch, but 6 or 7 would do as well.

im more or less going to be building a longslided 1911 with a full length dustcover. Not going for practicality, just need to know where i can buy such a slide/barrel set.

    Thanks!

Brownell's just came out with a 1911 only catalog that has pretty much all the major parts manufacturers listed.

barring that, to look on the less expensive side AMT did make a longslide varient of their hardballer, but the quality and material could be up and down, so if you find one it would be less expensive but a bit of a crapshoot.

yeah, but that combined with a barrel is gonna get way too pricy, i was looking for a straight cut slide, pretty much the AMT hardballer slide with a barrel and recoil spring setup, the whole top half.

I see long-slides and barrels from time to time on Ebay. Punch in a search for 1911 slide and see what happens.

I picked up a Day Arms .22 conversion 6 inch longslide that way.

              Sarco has 6", 7" and 16" barrels for $40 - $68

But all the complete upper kits are 5 inchers for $155.

yeah, im having trouble just finding a nice set, or at least a decent cheap barrel/slide that will fit together on a GI spec frame.
