Like others have stated these are crossbreed supertuck and are great. The large leather surface molds to your body and is really nice. I have a mini-tuck that I carry a Kahr PM9 in and you really forget its on. Its that comfortable. Another great thing about Crossbreed is you can get them in a few weeks, not months like other high end leather. I have some other pistols and TT Gunleather IWB that are really good as well.

Wish I knew. It's not mine, haha. I can't tell if it is a commemorative, or a duty pistol, but it looks like it is associated with a LEA. I'm going to guess early 90s.

I posted a review of a CompTac (kydex holster) vs. a Milt Spars VersaMax II (custom leather holster) which I thought was pertinent to your question so I created a new post and here is the link:

To answer your question I like leather holsters and have them for all of my carry handguns. I go with VMII's for IWB and CQC/S for OWB.

Milt Sparks VMII holsters for when I want the ultimate in concealability and comfort. Holsters for a full sized 1911, Glock 30 and HK P7M8. The standard against which all IWB holsters are measured.

Lou Alessi CQC/S for when I don't want to bother with a IWB holster and just want to snap it on. 2x full size 1911, Officer size and a Glock 30. The ultimate for OWB holster.

If you guys are looking at Top Quality leather IWB that will ship in less than 10 days, check out TT Gunleather designed Occidental Leather Holsters:

This holster has replaced my M-Tac (More comfortable) and VMII (More concealable) which will be the holster I use when I finally get my CA CCW

Kydex. Leather warps and changes over time from pressure. Kydex keeps it's form and allows you to insert your firearm into a holster that is a perfect fit every time. But leather is more comfortable for IWB. Raven makes great Kydex holsters.

I really like leather myself. Just like the fit and feel. I think Kydex is far more durable thou.

I agree. I want one for my 1911, but I have to wait 12-13 weeks.

No - that one is no younger than pre WWII, maybe even older (C prefix).

Maybe the cheap non-reinforced ones do but don't fool yourself about kydex not cracking over time either. Even Raven is making his kydex thicker to minimize cracking.

C prefix serial number. They switched to C suffix in 1950.

How about that. I didn't even see the serial number.
