Source for model 10/64 or model 13/65?

Am I able to peruse local shops for these or are they pretty rare now-a-days?

    thanks!

    -Brian

p.s. I'm not a smith guy, so any advice as to " this is better than the others" is welcome. I'm going off of several reviews of them as good values for recreational and defensive handguns.

    Patience and diligence...

The S&W models you mention are out of production, unless I'm mistaken, so you'd be looking at finding a used gun, either as a dealer consignment (not on the CA list anymore) or as a private party transfer. I would start with the firearms for sale section of Calguns, where you will sometimes see one of these models. It may easily take you several months to find one, and then it may be in the wrong area of CA for an easy private party transfer. So patience is key.

You could also look for a gun on Gunbroker, Auction Arms or Guns America that is located in CA and available for private party transfer. You quest would be a lot easier if you lived in another state than CA.

right, I was aware they would be used. I just wasn't sure if others had seen many of them around.

Apparently there were alot of police turn-ins available at one point.

      Thanks for the resources!

p.s. Been reading the revolver purchase checklist. Great info there.

The latest iterations of the 10 (10-14), 64 (64-7, 64-8) and 65 (65-7, 65-8) are still current on the CADOJ list, so if you can find them in the online pipeline, you're good to go. Check Auction Arms for availability. There's a few dealers that claim to have them in stock. IIRC, one is in MO and has a silly name like "coolguns.com" or something like that. FWIW.
