First Range Report w/ New SA XD9mm

I just bought my new Springfield Armory XD 9mm today and couldnt wait to take it to the range.
First impression with the new hardware was that I liked it. Came with a good sturdy case, two 10rd magazines, a holster and mag holster.
Everything looked good with the gun.
I shot two boxes of Remington 115gr UMC with no mishaps at all. Everything fed well and every round went bang and every round was ejected perfectly.
However, I was kind of dissappointed with the accuracy of the gun.
I shot about 150 rounds at about 10 yards and I must say I wasnt very happy. I am trying to post pictures of my targets but my downloaded isnt working.
Every 8 shots or so it would send a stray shot like 3-5 inches wide or low and high. I couldnt understand why. Is there a break in period with this gun or something ? My accuracy with my Rossi 1-5/8" .357 is more accurate than this gun at that range.
I am going to practice more and get used to the gun and figure it out.
Overall I would say I like the gun but I am concered about the accuracy on the initial outing.

The Rem UMC is not the best ammo, the charges may not be even in the rounds, so low or high happen.
    Do it yourself.

Hmm, yeah, might want to look at the ammo. There is no reason an XD should be that inconsistent at 10 yds.
What do you mean my birth certificate expired?

I found the exact same results with my XD and the remington UMC ammo. I threw in 115gr Magtec ammo and it came down to 2" groups from 4" groups at the same distance.
I also found that the slide wouldn't lock when the mag was empty sometimes using that ammo, its just crap IMO.

It's the ammo and shooter, not the gun. Great review though!

Here's an idea of a xd matced with good ammo at 15 yards off hand:

XD accuracy is OK. This is how mine shot when I first got it.

Okay so what ammo would you guys recommend for my second outing ? I paid $12.99 for the Remington but i'll pay a little more but not too much more.
