    Private Ranges/Clubs

Are there any private ranges I can join around the L.A. metro area (Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena is fine). Getting a little tired of public ranges with some of the yahoos that sometimes show up.

I think their name is Desert Marksman

High Desert Marksman, also Gophers or something in Lopez Canyon, Burbank Rifle and Pistol.

Most of the clubs I mentioned cater to competition shooters you will have to shoot some matches and get to know the people running the club or you won't get in.

    Look them on google

    Good luck
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

A bit far. I'm mostly a pistol shooter btw.

      Thanks though.

I am a member at the Firing Line in Burbank. The crowd there > LAX

Not private, but I tend to go at odd times to avoid crowds. Have you seen a lot of nuts there?

I let my membership lapse at Firing Line in Burbank. But I might re-up this year now that I'm getting back into shooting. It's good for LA - but once in a while you still get the yobos who go there to horse around.

LAX parking, location and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. If you like having your guns and ammo inspected and being scowled at by the help then by all means go there.

I've never seen so many inexperienced shooters in one place than I've seen on a regular basis at LAX. I'm actually afraid of getting hit by an ND there. Burro Canyon is secluded enough that you get a lot of super-yahoos that make me pretty nervous. Sometimes I really hate the gun culture.
