Beautiful Gov Property M1917 N frame from 89 years ago. I wish I look like this when I reach that age. Hardly a turn line on her when I picked her up. A condition that I promptly corrected

The only issue she had was someone put the super secret mainspring bend trick on her to get a light trigger pull. This resulted in unreliable ignition. This I promptly corrected as well.

Haha- my 1917 Colt has a Tyler T-grip I put on there too. It shoots nice with it, but without it = the most uncomfortable revolver grip ever.

The serial number before her was sent to an armory in Noo Yawk See-teh in 1918. I would imagins that this one went there too. I guess this batch never saw action because of the Armistice.

Saki, yeah I love putting Tylers on my range only pieces. They don't go on the 44 Mags though Ouchie!

Haha- I bought a matte-black T grip, so it isn't as noticeable. They're great on guns where you can't find new grips, or don't want to chance rubbing out the finish.

My Colt 1917 must've had an interesting history too- it came to me parkerized, with minor wear as if it sat ina drawer on one side. I was told it was probably parked then issued for WW2..

Quite welcome! I never had a FTF with that revolver but I only put 150-200 rounds through it. I had no idea the trigger was modded - thought it was smooth like my other S&W.
