Glock weirdness.

I got my first Glock out of firearms limbo today. I was checking it out, disassembled it, lubed it. Awesome looking gun. So I start messing around on some mag change drills. I pop in some snap caps and get to work. Usually when I change mags on one of my 1911s I pop in the new mag and pull back on the slide to put it into battery again. Well I tried doing this with the ol Glock and it didn't work. Looks like I'm going to have to get used to using the slide release lever. Lame.

What kind of snaps are you using & are you riding the slide forward?

Do you mean that you you can't sling shot it back when the slide is locked back? If yes, that's how mine was when I first bought it. The issue will eventually work itself out. Now my glock's slide will return to battery when I simply slam a mag in.

Haha, I was waiting to see how long it would take those comments to start coming. It's a good thing you folks can't see me though. If you could it would be even funnier considering I'm 6 1, almost 200 lbs.

my glock 20 has a slide lock problem as well. But it has to do with the slide lock level and the mag follower. On an empty mag, I can rack the slide back to lock it. But if I ride the slide back and try again the second time, it doesn't lock back. On closer inspection with the slide off I noticed the contact between the slide release lever and the follower doesn't mate up too wel. It slips off of the follower after the first lock back and hence no longer engages the slide lock in subsequent attempts. It is only with one of my two magazines. I think it's a follower problem in the magazine. Does it make sense? Any thoughts?

HAha well if you dont hit the gym atleast remember that guns are TOOLS, its okay to be a little rough with it, your def. not going to break that glock.

Yes, it does. Mark the bad mags and replace them. If these are brand new mags, send them back to Glock for replacement.

I'm assuming these are factory Glock mags and not some Korean crap copy.

When you seat the mag, hit the mag right on the corner at the rear the slide will go home all by itself.

New followers are cheap. Slide locks are cheap also. Pick what you think the problem is and fix it.

I have a 34 and the same thing with mine. Need to break in the mags a bit, I think.
