    80% 1911?

What would it take to make a 80% 1911? And would I have to do anything special to make it CA legal?

Do you have the 1911 paperwt yet? If so who was it made by because that will tell you how much work you need to put into it. Usually you would need a jig, mill and some time. Something not that easy but it can be done.

I do not currently have one, I am just looking into what it would take to make one, I just love the idea of making one.

Well you need to get the 1911 paperwt and there is milling, drilling and filing involved because you have to fit the parts to the parts kit. Probably not something for a beginner.

Thanks! I'm just trying to figure out what it would take, I've done a lot of basic gun smithing, and just looking for something that is more of a challenge.
