    M&P owners, which holster?

I remember reading on a thread here that there is one Kydex holster out there that allows the use of a light to be mounted, BUT, the holster can also be used WITHOUT the light as well. Which holster is that?

I have a glock 19 w/a x300 attached and I'm also looking at a custom kydex holster with a light. The models I've been researching on are a Peter's Custom Holster strada model, Raven Concealment Light Compatible model, and a NTAC model. RCS is about 3+ month wait and cost a little more. The reason why its so popular is b/c Chris Costa and Travis Haley uses the RCS in their Magpul DVDs. The NTAC is less than a month if you need a holster immediately, both have a lifetime warranty. You'll be happy with both. I myself is looking at Peter's Custom Holster.

but my main question is, can the holster retain the pistol even without the light attached? IIRC someone on these forums mentioned that there are some that wont retain unless the light is attached. I want the one that can retain the pistol either way.

The ravens that costa and travis used is pretty good. No idea if it retains the gun without the light. You should call them and ask them with the specific gun/light combo.

I see that raven makes the setup I need, I'll indeed email them and ask to be sure. Too bad on the wait, but no hurry I guess, i'll be happy with a serpa (without light) for the time being if that's the case of the insane wait

No, it wont work correctly without the light attached.

Darn, that's too bad, oh well, well I send emails out to other holster manufacturers, I will just settle with a serpa for the time being (already have one for every other of my pistols )

if you want something other than a safariland holster your SOL. ether get two holsters, one with and one without a light. safariland has a ALS paddle holster without a hood that will work good for you. it runs around $60-70
