    9mm 1911 sacriligious ?

Sorry if I spelled this wrong, but at first I was thinking 1911 in .45, but with ammo costing alot especially .45, I started thinking. I love the feel of the 1911, but don't really need the stopping power of a .45, especially if your placement is right. So, what do you think? And makes these models currently out there?

    I don't think so. I also want a 9mm 1911 more specifically a Dan Wesson Guardian.

I don't know if I will obtain it but that's what i really want right now.

I would love one, the classic look of a 1911 and the cheaper ammo of a 9mm.

          A 1911 in 9mm is like a V6 in a 60s Muscle car! Blasphemy!
          But I need a 9mm 1911 too.

9mm 1911's are a lot of fun to shoot. I prefer my .45 but the 9mm ones are cool and a lot cheaper to shoot.

                this!!!

the only way a 1911 is acceptable in 9mm is if its a conversion kit , in which you can revert back to 45ACP

Blame Colt for making them in 9mm way back when.

I plan to be shooting a match with mine tomorrow morning, thank you.

Does THIS float your boat better?

Man Doc540- what a sweet unit! I really would like to have a Commander in 9mm!!!! With the roster and all, I've been looking at the Springfield GI Champions as a way to get an inexpensive 4.25" model. I know Rock Island has a 1911 in 9mm, but I haven't had much luck trying to find if its on the roster or not. I looked up their website, but didn't take much more time to try and decipher it yet, and compare the Armscor 9mm models on the roster list, which I don't know what guns they are yet since I haven't found photo's to go with the item #'s listed.

Many years ago the late George Nonte put together a 1911 with slides, barrels, and magazines that could shoot around 2 dozen different cartridges. I don't remember which magazine or book he wrote it up in, but it was pretty cool how he made some strange cartridges work.

A 1911 that can shoot any ammo you find would be a wonderful handgun.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Isn't that niche sort of filled by the HiPower? Sort of, I mean a Browning design in 9mm? I don't know, just seems redundant.
