Sorry if I spelled this wrong, but at first I was thinking 1911 in .45, but with ammo costing alot especially .45, I started thinking. I love the feel of the 1911, but don't really need the stopping power of a .45, especially if your placement is right. So, what do you think? And makes these models currently out there?

9mm 1911's are a lot of fun to shoot. I prefer my .45 but the 9mm ones are cool and a lot cheaper to shoot.Comment

Man Doc540- what a sweet unit! I really would like to have a Commander in 9mm!!!! With the roster and all, I've been looking at the Springfield GI Champions as a way to get an inexpensive 4.25" model. I know Rock Island has a 1911 in 9mm, but I haven't had much luck trying to find if its on the roster or not. I looked up their website, but didn't take much more time to try and decipher it yet, and compare the Armscor 9mm models on the roster list, which I don't know what guns they are yet since I haven't found photo's to go with the item #'s listed.Comment

Many years ago the late George Nonte put together a 1911 with slides, barrels, and magazines that could shoot around 2 dozen different cartridges. I don't remember which magazine or book he wrote it up in, but it was pretty cool how he made some strange cartridges work.
A 1911 that can shoot any ammo you find would be a wonderful handgun.People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.
