    Sig Issues

Anyone got a birght idea for getting hol of SIG customer service. I've got a 226 in 9mm where the slide fails to hold back when teh mag is clear. Apparently I need to change teh follower out to a HI cap follower or change the hold back latch and it';s a known issue with 10 round mags. Anyhow I've left 4 messages for their alleged customer service and got nowhere, no call backs or anything.
    anyone got any bright ideas?

why not just order the parts and change it yourself? otherwise, you will have to request a RAN and send the pistol back. if you are in LA area, i can help you take a look at it.

I haven't bought any new Sigs lately, but I heard from a gunshop that they been having a little issues with specifications on LEO stuff and 556. Our department received a batch of 226 in 9mm and I did not hear of any problems with it. Could be FUD or just a passing hick-up.

There are a few main causes for a failure to slidelock. The two biggest reasons are a stiff mag spring or shooter riding the slidestop.

I would try shooting it one handed first. Specifically make sure you thumb is away from the slidestop and see if it continues to fail to slide lock. Does it slidelock if you manually rack the slide with a empty mag?

unless he shoots extra high thumb, riding the slide lock on a 226 is actually very, very hard due to the slide lock location of sigs.

Called them last week and after a 3 minute wait I was able to talk to a live person.

Same here...call their toll free #. Got a guy that was pretty patient and informative. Even tried to contact CA DOJ while I was on hold for my question. DOJ was the one that didn't answer, but he tried and that was more than I expected.
I've had good experiences with their service I guess.

Unless it is vastly different than the P229 I disagree. Riding the slide release is very easy to do when trying to apply the principle of holding as high up on the gun as possible. The hump on the left side of the gun for the decocker creates a shelf for your firing thumb where normally your left hand would rest and create that shelf instead.

Get a different slide stop from Top Gun Supply and be done with it.
                    Or search Sig Forum.

In my case I was riding the slide stop with my thumb... Just to be sure, I shot left handed and sure enough the problem was solved.
