    Glock G34 recoil spring

Done a lot of searching and just wanted to see what weight you guys run in your G34 if you changed out the stock recoil spring. Also, are you shooting factory or reload and does that affect your spring choice?

    Thanks!

Factory spring. Shoot factory as well as reloads with no problems.

The problem with the Glock when changing to a lighter recoil spring is it may have an effect on the battery position when the trigger is pulled. The pulling of the trigger will induce rearward force to the slide, if the recoil spring pressure is not enough to overcome the striker spring pressure it will push the slide back enough to where you'll have inconsistent lockup. I'm hoping it's low pressure/velocity rounds used for target mandating the lighter recoil spring, so it won't really present an overpressure danger causing a blown case. Some folks will install lighter striker spring to alleviate this problem, but sometimes it causes other problems such as miss fires or light strikes causing inconsistent ignition putting a toll on accuracy.

        ^ Well put.

Glock decided the 17# is most reliable but obviously running lighter has its benefits (as would heavier for certain applications). So at what weight are the benefits lost to unreliabilty?
