    Firestar Ejector Issue

So as previously posted I learned that my ejector was broken, so I contacted Jorge in Spain and ordered a new ejector. About 12 days later it arrived! So I went to put it in and when I put the slide back on i notice it catches on the ejector. So I compared it to whats left of my old ejector and its like maybe 1mm longer on the back and half that taller. Should I pay shipping and all that hassle for a month and ship it back for a return IF he even has the right one, or could i take it to a gunsmith and have it shaved down to size?

My guess is the spare part is sold oversize to allow fitting.
I am a hard-core do-it-yourself guy, personally I would grab a good file and start working that part into shape.
Sounds to me like less than an hour's work and the gun is ready for use again.

The headache with "off-brand" guns is many smiths don't want to touch them as it is new territory to be discovered and conquered as opposed to following a well-worn path on a job well known.
Usually new territory means no profit from doing the job because it takes longer than expected.

To bad you are not closer.
I keep thinking there is a market for a repair service for "off brand" guns.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Firestars are nice but they are kind of like orphans if you need parts for them. Go shoot it so you can give us a range report. Mark

I must say you saved my life Mark. I thought I made a dead purchase but Jorge pulled through with about 12 days for shipping. I'm pretty excited buying the last 2 10rd promags from some website for $11 new! That was a suprising deal. But I will definitely be taking it to the range soon. Do you have any recommendations on reliable .40S&W?

I can't help you the ammo for your firestar but the ones I had in 45 acp and 9mm were very reliable with whatever ammo I tried. Mark
