just saw sportsmansguide.com had 1000rds of WWB for about $450 I think. Not sure if that's a good price or not cuz Im not a .45 shooter so I dont keep tabs on prices. But at least they had some and in quantity.

start reloading! better now then later!

        45acp:
        1k brass $55
        1k bullets $120
        1k primers $25
        1lb powder $25
        total: $225

you can use the same brass about 4 to 5 times before you want to start bringing in new or once fired brass into it. so its about $225 for the first 1k of rounds, then about $170 after that! and you can mix stuff up! Semi wad cutters, hollow points, ball, 185-230gr bullets, lead, molly coated, copper plated, FMJ! its just endless! I made my first 200 rounds last week. my grouping was one of the best I have ever got! 7.5" at 25 yards with my full size SA 1911 and about 1.5 seconds between shots!

$30 for 50 rds; $50 for 100 rds; $450 for 1000 rds. It will probably get more expensive next year when the new law is in effect. if you do lots of target shooting, consider reloading. It's about 50% cheaper and can be more accurate. 45 ACP is a good caliber for reloading.

EXACTLY what he ^ said. I started reloading my .45 and never looked back at another "idiot box" of ammo again.

The sooner you start, the more enlightened, relieved, happy, and trained you will be. You can literally start shooting double the amount you'd be otherwise be able to when buying those expensive "idiot boxes"... Or you can HORDE double the amount. Whichever you choose.

How much does a decent reloading setup cost?

I'd like to know this as well. Could someone post all necessary tools and approximate price to get someone (me) up on reloading? I have a Cabelas catalog but there is so much in there it can get confusing. Thanks

....and more importantly, how much TIME it takes. My off hours are very precious.

My dillon 550B with everything else was about $850. thats one scale, tumbler, media, and aan mesuring thing, and it only takes me about an hour to do 400 rounds, the only thing that slows me down is picking up primers and thats about it! other then that you want about 2,500 pieces to throw into the washing machine and after into the tumbler. so for 1k rounds about 4 hours or so. and thats to wash, next day polish, and reload right after they come out of the tumbler. it pays off for itself after 3k rounds. if your anythin like me i shot about 500 a month, but now 1k a month since I reload.
