How are .40 ammo supply/prices lately?

Sorry, I've been out of the loop so I'm not really sure of the situation at the moment. I went to my local WM yesterday and noticed they were well-stocked with boxes of 100 Winchester range grade ammo for $29. Wondering if I should have snagged em up.. in the past I would have.. but I've done it enough times where I think I have somewhat sufficient ammo for the time being (I know, blasphemy.. can never have enough), but for some reason I didn't feel as compelled to just buy em all up as I did in the past.

.40 S&W is plentiful, compared with .45 ACP and .380 auto. $30 for 100 is a pretty good deal.

For the past year, Walmart has seemingly had an endless supply of .40 on the shelves.

The 100 round packs of winchester at $29.95 are still more expensive than 2 of the 50 round boxes of federal at $13.49 a box.

True, thats part of why I was hesitant to pick it up. I was comparing the prices to Federal. I didn't see any Federal there, however.

I was at 2 Walmarts yesterday (Palm Desert and Upland). Pleanty of 40 in the good old Winchester white box. Didn't notice the price. But both stores have a bunch of it.

Sorry, my mistake, I meant to say Winchester. They're the Winchester white boxes.

Have you seen the prices recently? I was at the Walmart in Temecula yesterday and those Federal boxes that used to be $13.49 were going for $16.97. Don't know if that's just in the inland empire, but I was sure sad to see it.

The above is part of the reason I just scooped up a used M&P in .40. It was also only $250 Gotta love plastic prejudice!

My .45 M&P will be jealous on range days when the .40 goes now instead.

Federal 185 grain FMJ .40 is 13.97 per 50 and they have tons of it at every WM
They have federal 135 grain JHP box of 50 for 22.97 also plentiful.

Or you can go to Calguns private party ammo sales and pay some guy 50% more for ammo that HE bought at walMart! (saves you a trip I guess??)

The Cerritos WM has had a good supply of .40 caliber and .223s at competitive prices. That's where I buy mine. Not so much luck w .357 mags and 38 specials.

I just saw 250 rd packs of UMC (or something like that) .40 cal for 69.99 at a local WM. Never seen them have bulk ammo and the guy said it was really rare. They do always have the federal for $13. They also have recently had 30 carbine on a somewhat regular basis.
