Which 1911 to get?

I have been wanting a high end 1911 for a while. I am looking around $1500.
What do you guys recommend?

I only see Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special or Premier come close to my price (on gunbroker).
Wilson, Ed Brown, or Nighthawk are 30%+ more...
Should I be looking at used?

In terms of higher-end 1911s, and considering your budget, there is nothing better than a Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special:



If your budget is $2K or up, I favor anything made by Ed Brown.

I have a TRP Operator from SA. I love it, but it is only my 2nd 1911 (other is a 9mm 1911 from SA), so take this with a grain of salt.

I had that same dilemma and decided on a Les Baer TRS 1.5" I'm probably going to order it in June

My next $1500 1911 will be my $570 lnib 1991 Colt with a $1000 Novak package custom (includes sights, gizmos and machine work for carry, the usual reliability package stuff and a refinish).
