I picked up a Springfield Armory EMP the other day from City Arms in Pacifica. I recently became interested in getting a 1911 chambered in 9mm, and the fact that the EMP was shortened, from front to rear, to better accommodate the 9mm cartridge intrigued me. So, I bought one. The trigger is not overly impressive, but then again I am comparing it to the Ed Brown Special Forces that I picked up at the same time. The workmanship is outstanding, as are its ergonomics. Here are some snapshots:
I have a set of Larry Davidson's Monkey Grips in route for this pistol, specifically the Horned Lizard ones. See: http://davidsonknives.com/grips/grips.htm
This pistol deserves a trigger job, and the ambi safety will most likely be ditched in favor of a single-sided one. It'll definitely get some range time within a few days.
