Midway doesn't sell the M&P Compact magazines yet. The 10-round ones for the M&P9c are quite elusive. It took me a month to find mine. I ordered them directly from Smith & Wesson. I know of no other source that has them in stok right now.

i read somewhere that the m&p mags are made by mec-gar and there is an agreement not to make any aftermarket mags.

If this is true that really sucks!! Perhaps there will be a ton of ProMag M and P aftermarket parts running wild.

I'm in Fremont. I don't think any magazines are available outside of the S&W distribution chain, so your distributor most likely has to get them from S&W. If lunde's experience is an indication, your distributor might have trouble finding them also. Maybe I'm buying the M&P too soon.

A couple distributors I checked on for you didn't have the compact 9mm mags, but they have the compact .40.

Not too early for the M&P, you just bought the wrong caliber.

Looks like it's either buy from S&W, or wait it out.

You may want to check cdnninvestments.com

They always have plenty of mags..

Because they don't work. Believe me, I tried.

Ever feed 9mm rounds into a .40 mag? I tried it before when someone had the same argument as you. On my Glock 23 regular capacity mags the 9mm rounds end up just popping out of the magazine. You might get them to stay in for some time, but after a couple actuations of the slide and I would almost guarantee FTF problems. They are designed differently for a reason.

Many guys have got it to work on XD's. Strange that it doesn't work on others. FWIW a 45GAP mag will not work in an XD40...but there is a bigger difference between 40-45 then 9-40.

It works with XD's and I've seen promag cz75 40 mags hold 14 rounds of 9mm and work. Mark
