Congrats! Great job on the refinish. It looks like a whole different gun. Don't leave us hanging to long on that range report!

OK so went to the range, not too happy with it as far as accuracy goes, I was shooting at 25 yards (one on the right) fed ball and hollow point only put 24 rounds through it because I was not hitting it.
Target on left was used for my Dan Wesson CBOB and Colt Defender same thing with ammo took all I fed it, hit the target and was a good day!

Not bad! Must be rewarding to see it shoot after bringing it up and running.

        Congrats!

I had a similar experience with a Mil-Spec that I bought from a pawn shop. It was in terrible condition inside but turned out to be a better shooter than a custom shop gun that cost me 1500.00. You might consider doing a trigger, hammer, sear etc. job on it. You might be pleasantly surprised.

My SA GI is par with my Kimber and Les Baers about accuracy. I cut the mainspring 2 coils, stone the hammer hook down just a hair, polished...Its trigger goes crispy at 3.5 lbs. At 25 yards from sandbags, grouping less than 4 in., off hands 6". It is a good 1911.

+1, I guess we have to blame the shooter then.

                  LOL, tough crowd today! LOL
I will be working on the Springer as a learning experience, hoping to improve my gunsmith skills, won’t be a quick class I will try things I’ve never done but will learn from all my mistakes and success’.
I don’t usually shoot at 25 yards but they start there at this range, one thing is for sure, if I keep shooting here I’ll get much better at that range!
