    Gilded pistols

If the $8,000 Glock impressed you, these pistols confiscated in a raid on a Mexican drug lord's home will amaze you.

Go to the original post--there are more including a gold plated titanium .357 Auto
Pics are from the post containing the photos of the home

With guns that gaudy, I can't help but wonder what their cars looked like.

Gaudy is too small a word for such blasphemous corruption of quality firearms.
But it shows the incredible wealth our War on Drugs has siphoned out of our economy and concentrated in a small group of people.

Museums and private collections are full of guns just as gaudy and more from past generations. Since the invention of firearms, those with too much money on their hands and an eye to firearms as objects of art have embellished guns.

Example... Adolph Hitler's gold plated and engraved PPK

More recently... a Gen 3 S&W, a Los Angeles Police Revolver and Athletic Club 65th anniversary commemorative 4506.

But the OP's point that the vast amount of money the narcotrafficantes have to throw around is just obscene. Sadly, legalization of drugs would not stop their income but only lower it some. The issue comes down to the base human behaviors of decadence and self abuse that exist in the modern first world, which history have shown will eventually lead to their downfall.
