    Good solution for transport

I just wanted to mention. I found a great under 40.00 solution for transporting handguns while traveling in my pick-up.

A Craftsman plastic tool box and a 4 lock set made by Master with a single key.

I've been able to fit 3 guns and ammo all in a very easy to move portable box.

The plastic won't mar anything and the 4 locks are convienent for other containers and you only have to worry about the one key.

A 26" or longer toolbox will let you store an AR with a 16" barrel broken down, with room for mags, tools, ammo. Cheap and subtle.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

That's a good one, mind if I share a couple. I have a Pelican 1500 case and was debating on whether I should buy new foam for it or try to rework what I had (had it set up for 1 gun and accessories after I bought my first gun, then bought more guns). I came across these at the NRA store:

I should be able to remove the foam and load up 2 or three of these soft cases and put them inside the Pelican. Then I can lock the Pelican to the car for long trips.

Another solution would be a field/sport box like this Plano:

          and some handgun socks.

Yep, a 4 lock single key system is good. I use a dial lock on mine. Don't have to look for a key. I just dial the combination, open my locked container, and slip the magazine into the gun. All loaded within about 8 seconds. Good enough for me.
