Changing Front Sight on Sig P226?

I want to change out the front sight(serrated target) with a Dawson optic inseted sight but I am not sure which way to go in terms of size. Below is what I measured and what is available.

This is what I measured my Sig's front sight at.
.1755" tall x .130" wide

From the Dawson Precision site these are the sizes closest to what I measured my Sig's sight at:

#5 - .180" tall x .125" wide
#6 - .170" tall x .125" wide

The rear is adjustable and I'll be keeping it.

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

There are generic, multi model, sight pushers out there for $100 or less, and if you go to the Sig forum there are guys who have them that will loan them. But definitely get your hands on a pusher. Don't use a hammer and punch to drift them out.

Since your sight is in about the middle of the two sizes available you need to look at how your rear sight is adjusted. If say your rear sight is almost bottomed out I would go with the taller front sight. The taller front sight will make your gun shoot lower so you adjust the rear up. You could also shoot your gun from a rest and get it dialed in so it shoots to point of aim. Then send your slide to Dawson with the details and let them pick the right sight and install it. Mark
