    No Ruger?

I am wanting to get a 22 revolver to take camping for plinking in camp. Thinking a single-six might fit the bill, I checked the approved list and Rugers name doesn't even come up on the list, WTF. Did Ruger just decide to let Ca. get bent?

Rugers are very much available in CA, including the Single-Six. I bought a .22 LR/.22 WRM convertible last year. Love it. Just had action job done on it; also have fancy grips and a crescent ejector rod. Can't go wrong with it for plinking, etc. Just put a big dent in a brick of .22 LRs today - under cover, though out in the rain. Lots of fun. I've also just started shooting Colibri's with it. They are great in small yards or places where you would not want to shoot anything bigger then a BB gun or air rifle.

I had no idea that that was the name. oops. Never been a big Ruger fan, but I like that little 22. I knew you could get a Ruger since I looked at a SP100 last year, but didn't know that the name started with Sturm.

Most full sized single action are exempt. Gov't didn't want single action/cowboy society on their back.

[Section 12133 is exemptions from the entire proposed statute (chapter). No change since last issue.]

12133. The provisions of this chapter [(12125-12133)]shall not apply to a single-action revolver that has at least a five-cartridge capacity with a barrel length of not less than three inches, and meets any of the following specifications:

            (a) Was originally manufactured prior to 1900 and is a curio or relic, as defined in Section 178.11 of Title 27 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

            (b) Has an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at least seven and one-half inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.

            (c) Has an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at least seven and one-half inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled and that is currently approved for importation into the United States pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (3) of subsection (d) of Section 925 of Title 18 of the United States

They are indeed available, no listing required. The Single Six is also a great camp gun. When we do our desert shoots, it seems like my Single Six is going non stop, usually by friends and neighbors that don't normally shoot revolvers and pistols. They just seem to love that thing. I set it out on one of the firing tables with a bulk pack of .22's and everyone seems to take a turn. I usually end up with at least another bulk pack of ammo that gets left "for letting me borrow your gun."

Nope - almost completely the opposite.

The naive SASS CA leadership sold out to 'protect' their precious SA guns.

If SASS + CRPA had been unified in opposition to SB15, there was a pretty good chance it wouldn't've passed.

With opposition to SB15 fragmented, fence-sitting politicians felt safe to vote for the bill because there wasn't solid opposition. (Many state politicians' aides may see NRA, CRPA and other gun orgs on somewhat the same level.)

Today's mag disconnect safeties, loaded chamber indicators, drop tests, etc. were all brought to you, directly or indirectly, by SASS's clown-arsed CA leadership aided & abetted by CRPA.

                  Thanks for the correction Bill.

When the gov't try to ban lead in ammo what would SASS do...

i was thinking the same thing. Will this lead ammo ban cover making and reloading it yourself?
