Just picked up a Delta Elite.

I picked up one on consignment today at a local shop. It looks to be a 95% (easy) gun and is in great shape. I was wondering if anyone knew of a local so.cal smith that could take a look at it, make sure everything is in order and tune up whatever is not in order.

    Anyone know anyone?

haha I guess I could have snapped a few before i left the shop. It'll be another 14 days before I go back down there...

It was a very cool IE shop in Temecula.

I snagged a LNIB one in early 2004 for a mere $700 as a PPT, which included over 1K rounds of factory 10mm ammo. It ended up going through the hands of John Jardine and Terry Tussey, and also visited Tooltech and Bar-Sto. Here is what it looked like in its original form (but with a full-length guide rod added by me):

Here it is, in final form:

Check out its undercutting of the trigger guard, done by Terry Tussey:

Its barrel is a Bar-Sto ramped (and fitted) one.

The othe day I passed a new (to me) place on Artesia Blvd in Long Beach by the name of Mike's Gunsmithing, maybe others can weigh in on their experiences with the shop.

Terry Tussey did the Bobtail work, checkered the front strap, and undercut the trigger guard.

                      Good find

Congratulations on the find - Colt Delta Elites are scarce.

For local gunsmiths in your area of Riverside County you might try Ray Booze, the "Gun Doctor" in Elsinore, phone (951) 471-5460. He works out of Accurate Arms in Temecula on Wednesdays and Thursdays, I believe. He has done good work for me on a Sig and a Colt 1911, and currently has a S&W model 27 of mine for some work.

Be sure and post some pictures once you pick up the gun.

If anyone knows where a decent deal on one of these is, let me know please.

Show me a deal like Lunde's ($700 great cond stainless!) and I'll give you a $50 finder's fee.
