My father in law purchased a Ruger 357 speed six revolver in the late 1980's from a co-worker with no paperwork. At this time he was living in Pennsylvania and moved to CA in 1992. I was wondering how he can register the revolver in his name. Can he fill out the voluntary registration form? Does he need to acquire the HSC certificate? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

The question is, why bother? It isn't required.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good! -

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Yes, the law requires that you register it. You can use the intrafamily-transfer form.Matthew D. Van Norman

The government is your friend it is here to protect you. Registration leads to consfication, worked well for Hitler .How about Cuba etc.California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.Comment
