Is a PT-CBOB-45 different from a Commander Classic Bobtail?

    Hey gents,

Quick question. Is the model PT-CBOB-45 different from the "Commander Classic Bobtail" that is on the roster? Or is it the same gun? Found one of state that looks just like the California legal CBOB but not sure if the model is exactly the same. Thanks.

No. Unless it's pre-CZ. What is the year of manufacture? It's the first digit in the serial number. External or internal extractor? These will help determine.

Ryan, so post CZ CBOB 45s are good to go? Did the non approved ones have external extractors? Thanks. Will ask the seller.

Just to give you an idea. I have a 2005 Patriot Bobtail Commander.

The first letter is for the series. "C" for commander. The first digit is the year. Mine is a 2005. Right after CZ took over. My slide is marked PT-C for Patriot Commander. While the name has changed, it remains the same gun. You may have to convince your FFL of this. The name has changed on the roster as well. It used to say Patriot Commander/PT-C/ Commander Classic. A rose by any other name....
You should be good to go if it's a 2005 or later. 2004 and earlier models had the external extractor. Unless it's by PPT, you're not getting one of those, or any other DW except the PM-7.
Let me know how it works out for you. FANTASTIC guns. I love mine.
