Ok so here's the deal, I bought a stainless steel Springfield GI 1911-A1 from a dealer on Gunbroker.com no problem there, had it xfered to a local FFL holder, however... when he went to do the registration stuff he could not find the gun on the approved list and denied transferring the gun to me.
Here's the fun part, PW9108L which is the number on the tag attached to the gun, shows up on the approved list, but it just says "steel" specifically, it says: "PW9108L / Steel Pistol 5" .45 ACP 9/22/2007 " from http://certguns.doj.ca.gov
The problem is that he won't transfer it because it does not say "stainless steel" even though it is the same model number. Is there actually some other model number for a SS Springfield GI 1911?
What annoys me is that Target Masters in Milpitas has this same gun in their display case. What further annoys me is that I wanted to buy it from them in the first place, but back when I was looking for a SS GI they didn't have one... What a royal pain in the *** it is just to pick up a basic gun in CA, this is a joke..
Any of you experts have advice?
