I put a deposit on one today. They are on order currently so they don't know how long it will be. I had to do it. It is the exact 1911 i want and i didn't want to settle.

How Long do you think it will take?

This wait could very well kill me.

It took me about a year to find a new one that wasn't too pricey. I only found 2 in that time period though.....

Your best bet is to put it on your buds gun shop wish list and hope for the best. Thats what i did, paid 1125 OTD.

Your best bet would probably be to talk to a local shop owner and ask them to call distributors to try and locate one. I asked my local guy if he could get one. He said "probably not", but sure enough, 3 weeks later there was one sitting in his case.

Issue is they want 1250$ for it i think. Is that over priced? i know they are tough to get so i know i will have to pay a premium for a new one.

If you want one from a shop they are gonna jack up the price. The one I found online was 1049. IMHO 1250 is way overprices. When you factor in tax and other fees your looking at around 1500.......

I like my buddy's TRP Operator but the front checkering is way to sharp IMO and I have shot a few loadeds and i like them.

Seems like the MC Operator will be a nice in between pistol.

When my guy got one he wanted $1100 for it. I think $1250 is pretty overpriced.

I like it although I must say my Kimber TLE/RL feels better in the hand. Im not too crazy about the grip wraps. Makes it a bit bulkier too.

I like the finish the internal extractor and the GI spring set up though.

I was in the same situation as you. MC Op's are rare, and when you find them, they are WAY over priced. I've had members on here offering to sell me for no less than $1300!! For that price you can pick up a TRP on buds!!

If your deposit is refundable, I'd watch budsgunshop.com at the same time. You gotta be careful with their "Wish List" option though. It works 1/4th of the time for me. What I ended up doing was bookmarking the "Handguns > Springfield Armory > Sort: Highest price to lowest". And just check this page frequently. After a month of hunting, I picked up my own MC Operator for $1093 shipped.

I paid a little more than $1300 otd for mine about 2 years ago, and I'd do it again if I had to!! My MC Op is my absolute favorite gun. I haven't seen another one in town since.
