An FFL without an actual store?

Anybody ever do business with an FFL who did not have an actual store, but worked out of his house? Im thinking about buying a handgun from a guy in this situation but Im not sure if its a good idea. The guy is however, on gunbroker.com and does have positive feedback.

Yes, I have. There are quite a few that do. Just check the FFL on the ez-check ATF system and you should be GTG.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

Yeah, Rogers Relics in Santa Clara operates out of their house. There used to be a lot more 'kitchen table FFLs', now it's a lot more difficult and/or impossible to become one but some are still around from the good old days.

I use a home based FFL for almost all of the guns I buy that can not be sent to me as a C&R FFL.

I've bought multiple guns from a guy in my neighborhood that works out of his house. Alot of times these type of FFL's can have better pricing due to the lack of overhead that a brick-and-motar shop will have

Right on. I think I will contact the guy and get the wheels turning.

FFLs without storefronts tend to be MUCH better for transfers, and have much better customer service.

I've got a rifle in ten day wait at one right now. I'd be more worried about it if it was at Big5, Turner's, etc.

Im a KTD, Kitchen Table Dealer, and can't vouch for all but we have have alot to lose if we screw up. The ones I know are pretty detailed and reliable. Especially if they buy/sell via CGN.

One of the big ones who's referred a lot here on Calguns is Don Gussler, who works out of his home in eastern San Diego city.

They're usually leftovers back from when the ATF was more willing to give anyone a FFL license. Now they usually only give them to persons with a store.

My local FFL is right around the corner from my house. Good guy, good service.

Yep. I work with several that are home-based FFLs. They are all great guy's.
Low overhead can mean lower prices.
                          Cheers!

Why not just get your own FFL and use it to expedite your own personal firearm transfers?
