P210 question

I've got a question about the heel mounted mag release on a P210. In an old Handgunner magazine from '03, I read that P210 owners sometimes like to replace the heel mounted release with a traditional button release. The P210 in question was one worked on by Larry Vickers, in which it was mentioned that he offered such a conversion using a S&W Model 39 magazine catch. Does anyone know of any other conversions, using either a kit or custom made besides Vickers? I'm not sure if he even works on P210's anymore.

I am not aware of anyone in the US besides Larry.

You might try and talk Bruce Gray into working on a P210. He has history with them.

The later models, like my 210-5 LS, actually did come with a thumb release from the factory (even before Sig Sauer took over the machinery)

But I agree, why mess up a fine gun? f you really want a 210 with a thumb release, get one of the newer models instead.

the Sig 210 was originally design as a military sidearm...just a very accurate one

Got another question...does anyone manufacture thin grips for a P210? I think I saw Tony Rist grips, but wasn't sure if they were thin grips or not. Can Nill make their P210 grip offerings thinner upon request?

i am simply a purist with that sort of thing; just wouldn't do it. it can be your extreme cold weather gun when wearing gloves; the heel magazine release will come in handy then....

ruchik i did not intend on offending you, and hope i didn't. i gave advice not asked for regarding your magazine release; whatever you do, good luck with the project. and i am envious cause i would love to have a P210....
