    Out of State Purchase Question

My long time buddy from Florida was asking me about buying guns. He is going on vacation to AZ soon and started asking me about any gunstores that I would recommend to him to check out while he is out there.
He wanted to know if a resident of FL can purchase firearms in AZ... I told him I'd get back to him with the right answer. I thought if you live in a "FREE" state you CAN purchase firearms in another state but only ones that directly share a border with your state of residency??? Am I totally wrong on this or can my friend purchase firearms in any state (except CA of COURSE!!!)

    Thank for your help!

You need to be a resident of AZ or you can have the shop do an FFL transfer back to an FFL dealer in FL. Some shops dont like to transfer, best to just call one of the gun shops and ask them.

Gun stores in Arizona are almost as common as 7/11's. There where a few I would frequent. I found the guys in the smaller shops much more fun to talk with so I didnt go in to the bigger shops much.

There is a Cabelas in Glendale, Sportsman Warehouse off the 101 in N Phoenix, Shooters World closer to Down Town Phoenix and Scottsdale Gun Club (lots of class 3 stuff as well) for the big guys. You also have Dillon Arrow/Precision in Scottsdale, Mikes Hanger is something else. I preferred the folks at Randall's Firearms in Glendale for most everything I needed, great little shop. If you need some great custom work done you have Garry Reader in Flagstaff and Jeff Mangum who now works out of Shooters World.

If he does make it out there and had the opportunity to go shooting he must check out Ben Avery Shooting range just north of Phoenix off I17. World class shooting range, I haven't found anything out in SoCal that comes close.
