Glock 21 - Differences Depending on Year Produced?

What, if any, are the differences in a Glock 21 depending on the year it was produced?

I had an early 90's Glock 21, but sold it long ago. Now I might have a chance to buy it back, and wanted to see if there's any difference between it, and the current production 21's. Specifically are there any desirable construction features/qualities on the older models vs current production...?

The main difference is the grips have changed over the years from the original 1st gen G21's. I find the newer gen grips (with finger grooves and quasi-thumb rest) feels slightly smaller in circumferance than the original box-like grip, and, therefore, more comfortable for me.

There is also the 'SF' model (Short Frame), which has a slightly shorter length grip (width is the same), which makes it even more comfortable for average size hands to grip.

Mechanically, aside from minor parts upgrades, they are pretty much the same.

Oh, if you are outside CA or LE, there is an ambidextrous mag release version available (not on the roster).
