SMITH AND WESSON 500 and deagle

so i still dont understand why the 500 is legal in california but the deagle in 50 cal isnt,i see them in 44 and 357 all the time, but why not in 50ae?the 500 is way more powerful you would think the 500 would be the one not legal haha
I wanted to invent an engine that could run for ever. I could have developed a new train, had I stayed in the railway. It would have looked like the AK-47 though. MIKHAIL KALASHNIKOV

Apparently they aren't actually Illegal, they just arent on the safe list, so you have to buy it in .44 magnum then put in the .50 barrel.

Pretty much the same with so called "assault" rifles. My deer rifle 30-06 will put most "assault" rifle ammo to shame as far as comparing ammo. Im sure some dip dunk somewhere thought that it would "help" somehow

The 50DE is not illegal in California.

The only "fifties" banned in California are 50BMG rifles; other 50cal firearms are legal [unless violating some other separate law, like AW or SBR].

If you find someone in California with one used, you can get it via PPT thru your FFL, or you might find one on consignment.

Magnum Research either did not pay for drop test/Rostering for the 50DE (or perhaps did not renew its Rostering - unsure if it ever was).

Smith & Wesson has paid to Roster the 500S&W revolver(s), and is pretty good about renewing Rostering status by paying the fees.
