M&P two tone guns

Can all M&P guns be had in two tone with the silver slide? I've fond the regular 9, 40 and 9 pro with the silver slide, but I was looking for a 9c.

I've never seen that. I just checked S&W's website and didn't see the silver slide. Are you talking about the springfield xd bi-tone????????

there are pics of the M&P series pistols floating around the internet in two-tone setups , but i think its more of a nickel plating than a chrome thing. They started to surface after this guy started doing custom work

A lot of those were done by the purchasers by bead blasting or using a buffing wheel to remove the finish.

i know a guy that took the black finish off of his with a green scotch brite then polished to a mirror finish with a polishing wheel. He said it wasn't that hard to do. I'll try to post a link to the pictures.

No, the M&P is available with a silver slide. Cabelas is one of the vendors that stock them now.

if that is what i wanted, i would think the easiest route is to just buy one and bead blast the top color off. it's not like you'll hurt it...Melonite is a surface treatment, not a coating

My M&P is a HD weapon. As pretty as those two-tone pistols are, the last thing I want is something shiny that could glint and reveal my position to Mr. Badguy in my living room at 0-dark thirty. Black is best for remaining unseen until you reveal yourself.

Are XD slides made of stainless or carbon steel? If stainless YES, If carbon, I probably wouldn't suggest it, unless you really like oiling your slide..

Ok, I got my two tone M&P on order

BTW the factory finish looks nothing like the ones posted here. It is not poslished, it is silver like a Kahr or HK slide.
