First range session with NEW Kimber 1911

thanks for all your advice about my new handgun, especially Black Majik, you rock dude. Thanks for the dudes at Lytle Creek for letting me start after last entry.

Cleaned and lubed, then put 150 rds down the new pipe, and recleaned and relubed. Awesome firearm my friends!

he does look like a proud owner, now you need to find ammo, .45 is the hardest to find here. Walmart seems to be stocked up pretty good with all but .45

Probably just keeping stuff off his hands.

I do this now myself too, though for years didn't. I wear nitrile latex gloves when cleaning with solvents and getting lead powder off. It just keeps that stuff off my hands and my body more, and I just throw away. Lot of people doing that now.

J/k I think I'll invest in a box of gloves for cleaning, I've never given much thought to solvents touching my skin, but I did always feel like they weren't supposed to touch.

Yeah, sorry if I look like a poser with the gloves. I started wearing gloves when dealing with any cleaners/solvents after taking organic chemistry lab, and I recommend it.

If you remember anything in chemistry class in HS, you should definitely wear gloves.

From your looks, you've already got the 1911 bug and I'm sure this is just the beginning of many 1911's to come, and upgrades and accessories and gunsmith and......oh and get the Commander size then diffent calibers.....
Start saving your $$, it's going to be an expensive obsession.
