looking for 1911 grip advice

Can anyone tell me the difference between a tapered bottom grip as opposed to a flat bottom one? thanks. New owner of a Kimber Warrior II

It sounds like you are referring to a conventional 1911 grip with tapered bottom compared to a grip with a flat bottom fitted to a magwell. Here are examples of each:

As you can see a flat bottom fits flush with a magwell and if you don't have a magwell they feel a bit "longer".

I put flat bottom grips on all of my 1911s even if they don't have a magwell. I like the look better.

The taper bottom grips slide easier under your shirt and don't print as much.

If your gonna carry get the tapered bottom if you dont have the magwell. Less chance of snagging.

To me it looks weird if you have a magwell and don't have the flat bottom grips that are flush with it...here's mine
