    compensator installation on a 1911?

Just out of curiosity, how much does it cost to have a 1911 barrel (that uses a bushing) threaded and have a cone compensator permanently installed? I wouldn't need a new slide and a different barrel, cuz I can use the stock ones, correct?

Also, who is a good gunsmith (instate and out of state) who would do a good job? I looked up Barsto (they are in Socal) and they said that they don't do comp installations.

Psalm 144:1 - "Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle."

Dave's Metal Works. 626 859-0299 does them all the time.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

I spoke to EGW about comp-install a while back, and they were great to deal with. Don't know about their current backlog however.

        Shooter,
When you find out the answer, could you let me know? Also, does the price include fitting the barrel to the slide and the full length guide rod and reverse plug?
