I think you got the one you most preferred, If you had bought the Sig your question would be reversed. I think it goes to the old multiple choice test standard, Of your first answer is the right answer. There was a reason you bought the Glock, Something had to of stood out in your mind that made you pick it. Be rest assured in your choice and the nice thing is later if you dislike it. Well you can sell the Glock and get a SIG. I personally am switching over to Glocks in my collection. The reason is for parts availability and I like them. The most comfortable gun I have ever held was an Equinox! Dont own one.

GLOCK 19 (9mm) OVER SIG 226 (9MM)?

I would like to add something and please correct me if I am wrong.
My Glocks- Those Tenifer slides are super hard and tough. Hard to scratch or dent.
My new Sig P226 came back from the factory with a re-blued slide. But some where in handling the new Sig P226, I set it down some where and that stainless steel slide got a micro dent in it somewhere. That SIG slide is soft metal.
The Glock slide, I cant ding it if I tried. Again, I might be wrong on this, but its just my experience. I still love the SIGS, but the Glock is a winner by design and function.Comment

The Glock's action makes it a much better weapon for self defense.
It is essentially half cocked at all times. The trigger pull weight is the same every single time, allowing for a consistent grouping even under stress.
The Sig has a DA/SA action. Meaning two different trigger pulls. Under stress it becomes very difficult to control the trigger and you end up with one high grouping and one low grouping. I've seen people miss the target completely as a result of the action at 15-20 yards once timed conditions are put into play, and these are people who were hitting the target just fine when not on the clock and had time to get used to the gun. Even close up, their hits were not good ones.
There is no question you can learn to master both. However, the Glock is inherently easier to learn, and faster by design. If you put the same amount of time into both weapon systems, you would be faster and more accurate with the Glock as a result of the action.
So you chose wisely.Comment

They didn't mention that the Glock's trigger reset is half as long as the XDs, making it easier to master the trigger. That mattered to me, so I chose the Glock. Some people just cannot get over the looks and ergonomics of the Glock so the XD really appeals to them. The XDs action is the next best thing, but I do not consider it "equal".
There are only fractions of a second to react in a gunfight. You are WAY behind the power curve, assuming you are the good guy. So functionality being geared towards speed matters to me more than anything else. I'm old, and slow, and need all the help I can get.Comment

DEMOCRACY is two wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for lunch...
LIBERTY is a well armed sheep contesting the outcome of the vote...Comment

Both are reliable, quality guns. Both have upsides and downsides. Glock would be my choice for CCW due to its weight.Comment
