any advise for my finish? after a few years of carry as a offduty the finish faded so i sent it out of state to redo but as you can see it no help at allelp any idea?

Ionbond if you want the toughest, and adds lubricity to whatever it touches.
The color isn't black it's not bad to look at but it's a bit different.

Duracoat or Norrell Coat (baked finish).

No experience with Duracoat but have applied John Norrell's coating on ARs and it is holding up just great and it can be done in less than 2 hours if you really take your time.

The finish is tough but best of all you can touch up very easily and after baking, it is just as new, and you do it yourself instead of sending it out to someone and wait.

They do an excellent job with great turn-around times. I had my 13yr.old Sig Sauer P220 done in Hard Chrome. The thing came back so damn good looking that I haven't shot it since!

Prices are on par with every other refinisher about $240 a gun in whatever finish you choose.
Interesting this to know about them is that, Ruger, Sig, S&W, and other MFRG., send their special lots to them when they have a back up in their own system and need special plating done.

They do require you to write up a specification document, with exactly what you want done.

Attached is what I submitted for example. Like I said before, it came back better than I could have ever imagined!

I'm curious - who did the original finish? Judging by the picture, that coat on the tenifer finish is absolutely hideous! Looks like all they did was put a cheap finish without any heat-treatment.
