Man! That safety comes right out when you know what your doing

Yeah, I'll see how it goes after the first few outings. Seems strange that it would be this that is an issue though...

      +1

The only thing I might do is "aid" the break in as mentioned above, gently cutting down the corners on the pin, and maybe a bit of relief on the slide stop.... but before messing with the slide stop, be aware of two things:

Every time a gun owner buys a Dremel tool, a gunsmith's kid goes to college.

Well... for kicks I disassembled the pistol pretty much all the way down. About 20 minutes of swear words and it's all back together now. Slide stop took a small screwdriver but is in.

Stay tuned for my next thread; "how to touch up a parkerized MilSpec 1911."

Bravo Nate, the only way to become familiar is keep playing with the gun, one day you may be able to change the sear, hammer, mainspring...

How much fun did you have putting disconnect and sear back in?

Be sure to clean the metal with some brake cleaner or something before you try the cold blue stuff...

That was when words were coming out that would have made a sailor blush.

Too funny. Those are the exact words my old gunsmith Jack Kalajian of Costa Mesa Gunsmithing ( god rest his soul) used to say. He swore Wd40 and dremel tools put his kids through school.
